ABOUT

Glacier and summit introduction is an activity where you are introduced to both glacier and summit. The blue ice part is a guided trip into the glacier, looking for beautiful and dramatic spots. The summit day can you can choose between a rewarding trip over the glacier to Storebjørn (Big Bear, 2222 m) or an easier trip to the Norway’s highest mountain (Galdhøpiggen, 2469 m).
PROGRAM

First you learn how to use crampons for safe walking and ice axe for support. Then we walk into the ice, searching for exciting places, deep crevasses and deep blue colour.
Choose between one of these summits
Storebjørn (Big Bear, 2222 m). The trip starts from the camp and crosses two glaciers, Leirbreen and Bjørnebreen (Bear glacier). This summit has glacier and crevasses all the way to the top, with a beautiful view to the surroundings. We rarely meet other people in this trip.
Galdhøpiggen (2469 m). First, we need to drive to Juvasshytta at 1800 m. Then we cross Styggebreen (The ugly glacier) to reach the foot of the mountain. From here we climb and scramble up to the top. Needless to say, the view from here is the best you can have over mountains and glaciers in Jotunheimen. But we will not be here alone, lots of people follow the guided tours or comes from the other side.
Do you want somewhere else? Just ask. If it is close by and suitable difficulty we will try to do as you want to.
